Guardian Kestrel

I have painted a silhouette of the kestrel on the canvas in gesso, about 3 layer's sanding lightly in between coat's. The tooth of the canvas works well for the look of brick and limestone but I wanted a smoother surface to paint the feather's. I'm also working my way down the main column, I paint the darks first to maintain symmetry.

Beautiful work. I recently "found" your blog and I am enjoying watching this piece come together.

Your artistic gift is of the highest caliber with any other master or successful artist. Don't know why you'd have to have any other job. Your work is stunning!
