Tawny Study
Tawny eagles are found throughout Africa but my real inspiration for this study was actually the backround. I liked the contrast between the fallen tree and dried grasses, it reminded me a bit of Yellowstone Park which is one of my favorite places.

Your work never fails to awe me. This piece is stunning! There are so many great things in this painting...of course the bird, but also the detail of the camouflage log and the wonderfully painted grass. Love that splattered edge too!
