The setting is Yellowstone National Park. It is one of my favorite places. I enjoyed driving through the park on days like this and could easily imagine many other birds of prey in the same spot.

Hi John, I love the atmosphere and perspective in your Great Horned Owl Sketch. We enjoyed having a Screech Owl spend a couple of days in a tree right off of our back deck...a nice treat! I also absolutely love your painting of the Cardinal and Roses! Such great lighting and a nice composition to boot!! Rachelle :-)
