Verreaux's Eagle Study

Verreaux's Eagle also known as the African Black Eagle is a large bird of prey found throughout the mountainous regions of Africa. I love birds of prey and had the chance to study this guy up close through a falconer friend of mine who was taking care of it.

Good job! I think these are one of the most pretty-faced of all predatory birds. Is the bird your friend cared for being flown at quarry? If so, I'd be interested to know what.

Thank you Carel!
No, it was being flown at Kennedy Airport. He works at the Raptor Program there. It has since been shipped to California.
