" Mockingbird and Apples "

I was birdwatching recently and saw this mockingbird catching insects near this apple tree. His pose is what really made me want to paint him. I usually observe them with their tail down, the tail up makes him seem more alert.

John you have captured the look of Mockingbirds that I love. They are fun to watch and I'm partial to them since they are the state bird of Texas. I have a couple around my house and have them on my list to paint ;-) now I may have to move them up the list a bit being inspired by your painting. It's beautiful.

What a beauty!!,
I think a set of garden your birds, would make a terrific series of mini giclees. You managed to say something really unique about the mockingbird in this piece.
