" Mockingbird and Apples "

I was birdwatching recently and saw this mockingbird catching insects near this apple tree. His pose is what really made me want to paint him. I usually observe them with their tail down, the tail up makes him seem more alert.

I saw this street performer in front of the National Portrait Gallery in London. After viewing all of the amazing art there, I was really charged up and inspired and I knew the instant I saw him, I would eventually paint his portrait.
