I had a very busy weekend. I subbed on drums for my friends band on Fri and Sat and couldn't finish this portrait of my father in law until today. He's 85 and is a WWll veteran.

This is a Pale Chanting Goshawk. I enjoyed all of my bird sighting's in Africa but especially the raptors such as this one. I didn't see one hunting during the bush fires but I could easily imagine it, and even paint it!

I did this sketch yesterday of a Civil War reenactor. I wanted to capture the sorrow on his face. I will be doing more figure painting like this. I have always been interested in the Civil and Revolutionary Wars and of the brave men who fought them.

This was the first painting I did after returning from Botswana. I have vivid memories of this amazing little bird flying from bank to bank along the channels of the Okavango Delta.
